Complications in the Wind

I've been lax in my updates and I feel I owe readers an answer as to "Why?". I have been in and out of the hospital and dealing with an ovarian cyst. I promise to update as soon as I get better. It is looking like surgery is going to be in my future, and they need to test for cancer.

In the meantime, has anyone found any cool places in New England that they want to share. Send your story and pics to Dahlia2188@yahoo.com and I'll place your pieces with credit on my blog :)

Missing hiking and exercising in general so much. For now, I went blonde :)

Sick for the 4th

So Jay and I are both sick today. I have had a constant stomach pain since we got back from our night of camping, and he has had a headache that won't go away. Tully Trail will have to wait.. makes me sad but I'd rather be feeling healthy for when we attempt it.

I should probably mention the fact that I've been dealing with allergies of late. I got tested (it's only been, what, ten years since I checked what I'm allergic to..).

I am allergic to:

Alan E. Rich Environmental Park - Athol MA

Picked Miller's River Trail Loop. What will you pick?

The perfect accident. Jay and I were driving through Athol when Jay says he thought he saw a park.

Yankee Candle Factory in Deerfield, MA

As I had mentioned in the last post, my main trip before finding Poet's Seat Tower was Yankee Candle Factory. It is on 63 North in Deerfield, MA. I had never been to this place before, and I had been holding off on buying the candles I wanted at a regular retail shop. So worth it. The prices are much more affordable.

Poet's Seat Tower in Greenfield, MA

 Built in 1912

Coming across this tower was a total accident, and a great one at that. Jay and I were coming home from Yankee Candle Factory in Deerfield, MA and decided to take back roads to see what we could find.

Tully Trail and Royalston Falls Part 1

Tully Trail is normally a 22 mile loop hike (trail map here), but on this past Sunday we kind of were just there to see The Royalston Falls. This is just one of three that I know of so far (Doanes, Spirit, and Royalston) and all located in Royalston, MA.
